What's the Hardest part of traveling in Europe?

Thursday, 4 June 2015

Greetings all, and welcome to Hal's blog, the vastly superior location to receive all Eurotrip updates, anecdotes, and pictures of Grace taking pictures.

We're here in Dublin, and, true to form, have
already almost died a handful of times.  Our Air BnB is an adorable little closet, pictured here in Exhibit A

So much room for ACTIVITIES

So it turns out Ireland is bitter freezing cold year round and theres nothing anyone can do about it.  Obviously we packed no warm clothes and are completely unprepared for sub-50 weather. After
cruising around for a couple of hours we ended up getting caught in the rain, and it turns out rain in
Ireland is not pleasant and tickling like Los Angeles rain, its more like wrath of God kind of rain. I only brought one pair of pants.  I had to dry them with a hair dryer. I was upset.

Grace still managed to take lots of pictures.

Obviously the only way to end the night was to go out drinking in Temple Bar, where nearly every establishment has live music and theres no shortage of Guinness and Jameson.

We took a bus to Galway, a small town on the west coast.  It was pretty, but largely the same as Dublin.  Galway is famous for their Rock Bay oysters though.
So obviously we did that.

Grace gets hangry when she hasn't had enough to eat.  She turns into a cranky goblin.  Luckily there is a delicious cookie here called the hobnob that seems to satisfy her.

I call her the Hobnoblin. You have to feed the Hobnoblin Hobnobs on a regular schedule or she'll bite and attack you.

Last night we went out in Temple again and met these two nice lesbians who drank sambuca with us.  How did we know they were lesbians, you ask.   They were from Norway, and their english was a little broken, and when they asked us where we were going next and we said Lisbon, they said "OH MY GOD WE'RE LESBIANS." They were very nice.  We toasted to Caitlyn Jenner.

Tomorrow it's off to Lesbian to see more Lisbons and finally be in 80 degree weather yaaaaass beach yaaaaaaass
